A typical 3 kW residential system costs between ₹1.2–1.8 lakh before subsidies. After the PM Surya Ghar subsidy (up to ₹78,000), your net cost can be as low as ₹50,000–80,000. We provide a detailed cost breakdown during your free site survey.
The Government of India offers subsidies of ₹30,000/kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000/kW for the 3rd kW — up to a maximum of ₹78,000 for a 3 kW system. HK Energies handles all subsidy paperwork on your behalf at no extra charge.
A standard residential installation (1–10 kW) takes 1–3 days. Commercial and industrial projects take 1–4 weeks depending on system size. DISCOM approvals and net metering typically take 2–4 weeks after installation.
Net metering allows you to export surplus solar power back to the grid and earn credits on your electricity bill. On sunny days your system may generate more than you consume — those units are credited and offset your night-time consumption, effectively reducing your bill to near zero.
Modern solar panels still generate 10–25% of rated output on overcast days. Your system remains grid-connected, so you draw from the grid when solar output is low. Battery storage options are also available for complete energy independence.
